Alkebu Film Productions was founded by the filmmaker Petna Ndaliko Katondolo and the producer Yehudi Van de Pol. Alkebu strives to blend in cultural diversity, that by bonding and accepting each other beyond our cultural background; we can unite and adopt a togetherness that allows each of us to narrate his/her own cultural values and yet remain unbiased. The income of the promotion and distribution of the works sustain partly the activities of the artistic and cultural center Yolé!Africa.

Yolé!Africa is a centre of art, creativity and cultural exchange based in Goma, Eastern DRCongo and Kampala, Uganda. It was founded in 2000 by Congolese filmmaker, Petna Ndaliko and Dutch anthropologist Ellen Lammers. Its mission is to promote peace through art and culture as well as to operate as a platform for exchange where young people from different backgrounds and social status can come together to express themselves through their talents.
Yolé!Africa is neither a political nor a denominational organization, through its programs it promotes and encourages value and respect for all human beings (regardless of race, origin, religion, ethnicity, gender, language, or economic status), and stands against all forms of exploitation or violation of human rights.
The organization seeks to promote and encourage art. It supports artists and offers them a place conducive to creativity. It also wants to link the community and its artists to strengthen the common culture and identity. Through training, workshops and community events, it promotes dialogue and respect for others and wants to generate, through debate and reflection on current social and political issues, the awareness that everyone is an actor of his/her life and of the society in which he/she lives and has the right and duty to make of it a better place.

Yole!Africa U.S. is an educational non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo through cultural exchange between American and Congolese youth. Through events and discussions with young people across the United State, we have come to recognize that many young Americans know relatively little about the situation in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where an economically motivated conflict has claimed over six million lives. As this is a global conflict, we believe that it requires global action and that American youth can play an important role. Indeed, this conflict is fueled by global demand for natural resources including coltan, a mineral that is essential to portable electronic devices such as cell phones, digital cameras, and laptops, from which Westerners benefit disproportionately. In this context, we see young people in the United States as particularly well positioned to effect significant change both by creating cultural bridges with Congolese youth and by advocating for the regulation of mining in Congo.
As an organization, Yole!Africa U.S. is focused on raising awareness in two specific areas: 1. the role of the U.S. in the conflict, specifically U.S. legislative policy and the global economic impacts of multi-national corporations; and 2. the vibrant culture in Eastern Congo, which is largely neglected in international news coverage. Exclusively negative media representations of Eastern Congo do little to inspire global youth populations to take action. A fundamental belief at Yole!Africa U.S. is that artistic expression yields a strong connection between international youth populations who, with a better understanding of their peers, are more motivated to advocate for local legislative reform in their own governments.
